In the height of the apartheid era in South Africa, the government condoned what was known then as "detention without trial". These were "terrorists" in the 60's and 70's.
This was deplorable and and even then, 30 years ago, received much criticism from all over the world, the US included, as a gross violation of human rights
Today, there are people who have been held at Guantanamo Bay since 2001 without any fair trial. But you all knew that already. Just don't forget.
When the Great White Evangelical Saviour of the Planet preaches of how he is going to bring freedom to the world, just remember that he is holding people against their will for no other reason than he doesn't like them. If he could prove that they're a threat to society, why doesn't he? That's not freedom.
