For people, food and vibe, I've removed those places where we stayed with friends and family and instances when they cooked for us. We know our friends and family are top and don't think we should be revealing their cooking skills.

Te Awamutu New Zealand   The Saunders family took us in not knowing us from Adam and gave five star hospitality for a week.
Tilcara Argentina   Random Argies welcomed us into their world.

Food      
Bariloche Argentina   Alberto's Restaurant does the best meat you will ever taste.  Incredible wine.
Buenos Aires - Palermo Argentina   Second best meat you will ever taste. Incredible wine.
Patnam, Goa India   Various South Asian and Himalayan restaurants on the beach, cheap and delicious.
Singapore Singapore   Anything you want in Asia, but cleaner and nicer.
Te Awamutu New Zealand   Lamb shank cooked by a lamb farmer's wife and eaten on the farm where it bleated the day before might freak you out. I added mint jelly and dealt with it.
       
Scenery      
Angkor Wat Cambodia   This is where the Khmer show the Incas how to build a city.
Bariloche Argentina   ...and on the seventh day He rested in San Carlos de Bariloche.
El Calafate Argentina   Five kilometres wide, sixty metres high and fourteen kilometres long. This is a serious glacier.
Galapagos Ecuador   Awesome. Swimming with a sea lion pup who thought I was it's buddy
Salar Bolivia   I can't rave about this place enough. For a few hours on the 16th of August 2006 I saw nirvana.
Taj Mahal India   Agra is a cesspit, but I'll give the Taj it's dues... it is one of the most stunning pieces of architecture you're ever likely to see.

Galapagos Ecuador   This is where you feel that you are part of the planet.
La Cumbre Argentina   Far enough from BA not to be hectic, close enough to be happening.
Rurrenabaque Bolivia   Chilled, hot and sloooow
Salar de Uyuni Bolivia   Maravilloso
Salta Argentina   First bit of culture after four months in the Andes.
